About

Who is Changes in Between®?
Hi I’m Julie! I’m the founder of Changes in Between®. I provide counselling, coaching, and consulting to honour your loss, rebuild your life, find your place®.
Sometimes when change happens in or to your life, you can feel lost in the wilderness. Change can be overwhelming! You’re not where you were. You’re not yet where you want to or think you should be. As a result, your relationships with yourself and others, objects, possessions, past, present, and future become confusing. Through our work together, you may make sense of and find meaning to make you feel better.
Honour Your Loss, Rebuild Your Life, Find Your Place®
My aim at Changes in Between ® is to help you to honour your loss, rebuild your life, find your place®. I became a young widow at 30. I was working in the field of dying, death, and bereavement at the time. I felt I lost everything, but worse, there was a timeline to get over it and move on.
I learnt that honouring my loss and moving forward with my grief was possible. So I worked on rebuilding my life – bringing forward what I wanted and letting go of what I didn’t. Finding my place came through nature, but it’s different for everybody. Along the way, I have studied hard to learn more about these areas. And now… I work with people experiencing life transitions in those changes in between.
What I bring to my work with you
Over the past 25 years, I have explored and experienced many different activities and educational paths. I aim to bring you the best possible service at Changes in Between® with all I have learnt to meet you where you are. Firstly, through a commitment to ongoing learning in each focus area. Secondly, by active membership with professional associations and following their code of ethics. Thirdly, from relationships with peers and networks. Fourthly, with my therapy, clinical supervision, coaching and mentoring, and a simple self-care plan. Most importantly, I learn from my clients and their unique stories. You can see some of my qualifications and professional associations below.

About me
I live in the North Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne with my husband, two sons and long-haired chihuahua.
Being part Danish, I enjoy learning more about the Danish culture, food, language and hygge. Becoming hygge (pronounced hue–guh) is a big part of my life. Described as creating cosiness, comfort, and contentment in our homes, relationships, work and study, and a connection with the outdoors.
As a child, I lived next to a forest and spent much time in nature. Outdoor education has impacted my direction and has been a healing and self-soothing source. Being in and journeying in the wilderness also played a significant part in working through my grief as a young widow. I enjoy bushwalking in the forest and walking around my local area in my spare time.
You are welcome to use the 15-minute telephone enquiry to see if I may be the right person to meet your needs.

The calla lily known for its beauty and simplicity. It is often used in weddings and funerals and symbolises transition and resilience. At home in the garden, but also often seen growing in water and in barren wasteland.
