How I Can Help

Counselling Room

The counselling room I use is located in Heidelberg in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The first appointment is for 90 minutes with subsequent appointments 60 minutes.

As of March 2020, all face-to-face counselling in the counselling room has been paused. This website will be updated when these services are offered again.

Home Visits

If you are experiencing chronic disorganization or hoarding, home visits may be necessary in our work together. However, many clients may want to have appointments initially by telephone or online as we get to know one another. An assessment of your situation through a home visit will aid in providing the appropriate treatment plan to meet your needs.

Walk and Talk Therapy

You may be interested in taking your appointments into nature and having walk and talk therapy. The benefits of walk and talk may include improved awareness, connection, grounding, emotional release, problem solving and improved mood. For some people, the natural environment offers an easier way to express their thoughts and feelings than in the confines of an indoor setting.

Telehealth - Online and Phone Therapy

Telehealth (online and phone) appointments are ideal if you want the convenience of your appointments at home. These options are beneficial if you live in regional, interstate or overseas locations (other than the USA and Canada). A Telehealth Agreement will be sent to you which explains how this service works.

Single-Session Counselling and Brief Therapy

You may only want or require single session counselling. These sessions are for 90 minutes and are structured differently to multiple sessions. A single session does not preclude you from having more than one session but may only be required periodically.

Collaborative Therapy

Some people have engaged the services of a professional organiser to help them to become more organised. A professional organiser is a highly skilled professional who can help with changes to a living or working space. Usually they will work with people to find out what their visions and hopes are for their space.

Fees and Conditions

Fees

The number of sessions you require may depend on your specific needs and the issue that you are working with. In some instances, a single session may be all that is required or you may require a number of sessions for a single issue if there is some complexity.

It is helpful to have a brief discussion to find out what your needs are and if I am able to assist you. Once you decide to start working with me, I will issue an invoice and payment is required prior to the first appointment.

Rebates

Private Health Rebates

Counselling may be included if you have extras with AHM Health Insurance, Australian Regional Health Group (administers on behalf of Police Health, St Lukes Health, CUA Health, Phoenix Health Fund and Emergency Services Health), BUPA, or Medibank Private. Contact your provider to ascertain whether counselling services (Telehealth and face to face) are included in your private health cover extras.

NDIS

I am not an NDIS Registered provider however, if you are plan managed or self-managed you can use NDIS to access counselling services.

Better Health Care (Medicare Rebates)

Please note that I am not registered with Medicare’s Mental Health Plan (MHP). The MHP requires a GP’s referral for a mental health condition and allows for up to 10 – 20 rebated sessions per year with a psychologist or mental health social worker. While some providers are able to bulk bill clients, in most instances there will be out of pocket expenses. Not all service providers will offer home-visits and walk and talk therapy through a MHP.
